Our ancestors have established a village community life since the year dot.
Villages that have been the living foundation store a multitude of stories, culture, and history.
Above all, Gunja village, also called 'Waenae', is a 600-year-old village formed by the descendants of Kim Hyoro, the Gwangsan Kim Clan.
Nakdonggang River’s exquisite view reaches climax at Dosan, so called Dosangugok(the nine streams of Dosan). The first stream Unamgok is Gunja Village where the descendants of Gwangsan Kim Clan preserved 20 cultural-property-designated historic houses. The village has turned out many noble men and scholars. The village has been named after Master Hangang Jeong gu’s saying 'all men are noble in one village', speaking in laudatory terms of the village after having met the seven grandsons of Kim Hyoro(Kim Bupil, Kim Buyi, Kim Buin, Kim Busin, Kim Buryun, Geum Eunghyeop, Geum Eunghun) who established the village. Gunja Village is on its next step to pass down cultural legacy as the most Korean village with its picturesque landscape of Dosangugok.
